''Miss You'' rough concept by Sarahfina-Rose ''Miss You'' rough concept by Sarahfina-Rose
I need you like baja hoodies need pineapples.

(Or (''I Guess I) Miss You'' 2.0). Since I haven’t made any progress on new drawings (although I plan on finishing Sandy today), I decided to fish out some old crap. I totally forgot about this one. This was actually the preliminary sketch of (I Guess I) Miss You but it didn’t turn out so I scrapped it. I think the other one gets the idea across much better.

Patrick's feet look a little tiny but otherwise this is great!

Yeah I noticed the whole thing is out of proportion. I should fix it but it was just a rough sketch.

Oh wow! This is pretty!

I hate Spongebob with a passion but I'm really loving your art and some other people's art of the musical. The actors are so much sweeter and hotter, lol.

Same.
Well I mean the original's nostalgic but yeah it isn't the greatest thing since peanut butter. It's laughable compared to the musical (and I don't mean laughable because it's a children's comedy show but you know, the musical has more philosophy and merit. Same with the Ghost musical which I think puts the film to shame. It's more of a drama and much more sad).

I agree.
Oh I love Ghost the musical! I never cared for the movie either. The musical deals better with Molly's stages of grief. It has some lighthearted moments but it isn't as much of a comedy and Old Mae Brown isn't a joke, she's more believable.

The film is cheesy, but the musical moves me to tears. I love the score, especially the last song. Ugh. Takes my heart out and stomps all over it.
And Caissie Levy who I saw live in the L.A. production of Wicked is so fantastic. She's even better live.
I also love the set designs, they're out of this world. I can see why it was nominated for Best Musical. Of course it lost to Once which is also fantastic, but that was a pretty good season.

Same with Tuck Everlasting. The musical's way better than the film. They capture the book's themes better.

I love Caissie Levy! Aaah you saw her live? You lucky goose. Yeah she's great. And I agree. Once! Oh love that one too love the movie as well.

Also about Tuck, the musical has Winnie a 10, 11 year old and Jessie waiting for her to be 17 before they get married. They upped her age in the Disney movie for some reason (the remake) and a lot of the lines are cringey. It can't hold a candle to the musical. That version feels like a Hallmark Xmas movie in comparison.

Ah this is cool we love all the same musicals!

sarah, (tunefully) sa-ah-ah-rah, this is so sweet, and so close and melancholy and they look so distant from each other even though they are right next to each other. i love your drawings, always <3

Lo-oh-oh-oh-ren (lol) thank you so much! You know you're not the first person who's said that. Someone else told me (on some other drawing, forgot who it was, on Facebook I think) that even when my two subjects are together, there's a disconnection or distance between them. I didn't notice it but I guess you're right. Thank you again!

Sarah, this is beautiful! Even if it wasn't the final version you went with, this is so intimate and peaceful! I just love the splash of pink colours contrasting nicely with the cream/white.

I've been wondering when you'd be posting again, although I know you've been busy but seriously this really made my day!

Patrick’s/Danny's face looks so REAL!

Right? I initially felt bad for scrapping it because I spent so long on his face alone. I’m not that great getting a likeness of real people, it’s always hit or miss, but Danny just turned out perfect the first time I attempted him. I actually like his face better in this one than the other one, even though he doesn’t look that sad. I was going to change his expression from blank to sad but I didn’t want to ruin it so I just left it. I would never be able to draw that face again, not even if I traced it. On the other hand, I couldn’t get SpongeBob’s profile right, so it’s one of the main reasons this one went in the reject pile (also, their hands just look really weird). I must’ve redrawn SpongeBob’s face a gazillion times. I like it better in the other one. And I usually always draw Ethan on his profile, I don’t know why, I never get him right on frontal views (his face is actually kinda hard for me), but sometimes it turns out and sometimes it doesn’t. I have my days like that.

I’m the same way. Like when I draw Godfather art I have like the same style/design for Kay, right? Well sometimes she turns out perfect and then other days not so much. I don’t get it, esp. cuz I draw her the same exact way. I know I can never make her look like Diane Keaton but still I chose a simple cartoon look for her. I don’t know why that happens. But I loooove all your drawings of Ethan, I think you capture him. Especially that one you need to finish with his arms crossed, that one looks sooo good!

In the original costume sketch, Patrick was supposed to wear a drug rug. Drug rug full of ‘’pineapples’’ I assume. LSD pineapples.
